Dean Melendrez

Dean Melendrez has a significant amount of experience in quality assurance engineering. Dean is currently working as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at CesiumAstro since January 2021. Prior to that, they held the same role at HEICO from August 2004 to January 2021. Other notable positions include Manager, Quality Assurance at ASI Digital Imaging in 2002 and Engineer, Quality Assurance roles at Avica Technology from January 2001 to February 2002 and Conexant from 1999 to 2001. Dean also worked as an Engineer, Reliability & Quality at Motorola Semiconductor from 1994 to 1998.

Dean Melendrez attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace Engineering. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications over the years. In 2005, they became a Radiation Safety Officer certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services. In 2009, they became a NASA-STD-8739.3 Certified Level B Instructor accredited by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. More recently, in 2020, they achieved the IPC J-STD-001HS Space Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies Certification from IPC-Association Connecting Electronics Industries. Their most recent certification, obtained in 2021, is the IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies Certification from IPC.
