Dan Rao

Dan Rao has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and positions. Dan currently serves as the Director of IT - Enterprise Risk at Cetera Financial Group since 2023. Previously, they worked at Toyota North America from 2016 to 2023, holding various managerial roles. During this time, they managed teams, implemented cloud-based tools for fraud detection and compliance, and supported enterprise risk and financial crimes applications.

Before joining Toyota, Rao worked as a Principal Consultant at TEKsystems from 2013 to 2016. Dan led and managed enterprise initiatives for Toyota Motors NA, including implementing SAP projects and setting up trade zones. Prior to that, they owned a small business called Third Eye Systems, where they provided consulting services and developed cloud-based solutions for data centers and AML for mid-sized banks.

Rao's earlier experiences include working as a Program Director at SLK, managing IT outsourcing solutions for financial institutions, and as an Information Security Architect at US Bank, managing fraud detection services and supporting information security teams.

Dan also worked as an Engagement Manager at Satyam Computer Services, providing consulting services to Fortune 500 clients and start-ups. Additionally, Rao has experience as a Consultant at Tier Technologies, a Systems Analyst at Unisys Corp, and a Project Engineer at Tata Chemicals Ltd.

Throughout their career, Rao has demonstrated expertise in IT leadership, project management, enterprise risk management, financial crimes detection, compliance, and consulting.

Dan Rao's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business in 1996-1997, with a focus on Management Information Systems and Finance. Dan also obtained an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh in the same period, specializing in Finance and IT. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Chemical Engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda from 1990-1994. In addition, they have earned certifications such as Blockchain Technologies: Business Innovation and Application from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2019, Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance in 2015, and Project Management Professional from Project Management Institute in 2008.
