Andreas Hoffie, PhD, is a highly experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as Group Lead and Senior Research Engineer at CFD Research Corporation since October 2018, specializing in hypersonic aero-optics, real-time scene generation, multiphysics modeling, and uncertainty quantification. Prior roles include Post-Doctoral Research Engineer at Georgia Institute of Technology, where advanced adaptive mesh techniques were implemented for large-eddy simulations, and extensive research experience during a doctoral program focused on turbulent-reactive flows. Early positions included computational aero-thermal engineering at the German Aerospace Center and various projects in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and mechanical systems at leading institutions.
