Hussain Abbasi

Hussain Abbasi is the Head of Technology at ChaiOne. Prior to joining ChaiOne, they were a Manager Consultant at Sogeti from May 2014 to August 2019. In this role, they were the Mobile Architect & Lead Developer for the FDC at Halliburton, the Mobile Architect & Lead Developer for the EZ TAG Express Mobile App (Xamarin) at Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA), and the Mobile Architect & Lead Developer for the Virtual Assistant Mobile App (Xamarin) powered by IBM Watson chatbot at IBM. Hussain also contributed to Prism.Forms (Prism for Xamarin.Forms) framework.

From July 2010 to May 2014, Hussain Abbasi served as the Information Resource Supervisor for Enrollment Management at Prairie View A&M University. In this role, they were the Project Lead for the Document Imaging System (Banner Document Management) for Enrollment Management, the Project Manager for high priority and special projects for Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs, and the Business Analyst who analyzed department technology usage and determined the best solutions for future processing. Hussain was also the Project Manager and Lead Developer for the MS Access database application used to log advising and tutoring sessions with students, as well as the Business Analyst who identified process bottlenecks and implemented new and improved business processes and policies. Hussain served as the technical liaison for Enrollment Management to Ellucian for BANNER enhancements and compliance, and developed workflow for academic processes for efficient processing. Abbasi was also an elected member of Information Technology Governance Committee (ITGC) for campus level IT management, where they provided guidance, direction and vision for Information Technology at PVAMU University; aligned PVAMU IT goals to PVAMU goals; developed 3 year IT strategic plan for PVAMU; collected IT needs/projects across campus and assessed needs/project priority; maximized the value of IT investment while identifying and migrating IT-related risks; assessed the effectiveness of existing policies, procedures and architectures in meeting the needs of the University community; recommended new policies, procedures and architectures as deemed appropriate; reviewed trends in both computing and communication technologies as they impacted the University's long-term emerging technology needs; and disseminated information to users throughout the PVAMU community regarding major technology initiatives and priorities.

Hussain Abbasi earned their Bachelors in Software Design in Computer Science from the University of Houston. Hussain then went on to get their Certification from Xamarin in Xamarin Certified Mobile Developer and Certification from Cisco in CISCO Fundamentals of Networking.
