Eric Gansel

Executive Vice President at Chamberlain Advisors

Eric entered the U.S. Army Infantry in 2005. After completing basic training, he became part of Charlie Company 2-27 IN BN, “The Wolfhounds”, in Schofield Barracks, HI. He deployed to Iraq for 15 months from 2006-2007. Upon returning from deployment Eric suffered an injury and was then moved to Headquarters Platoon where, unbeknownst to him at the time, he would jump start what would become his civilian career in Human Resources. Eric deployed again to Iraq in 2008 for 12 months in his new position in Headquarters. It was there he learned to partner with Senior Leaders and become an integral part of Company and Battalion level operational oversight. Upon returning from deployment he was given the role of Headquarters’ Platoon Sergeant. It was his attention to detail, professional demeanor and ability to partner with Senior Leaders that allowed him to become a Platoon Sergeant as a junior Non-Commissioned Officer. In this role, Eric would forge a lasting relationship with then Captain, Matthew Schachman, who was Charlie Company’s Executive Officer. For 4 years, Eric oversaw the Human Resources, personnel actions, Deployment Operations, and Re-Deployment Operations for his Infantry Company that consisted of 131 Soldiers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Officers. Eric returned to the “Line” in 2011 for his deployment to Kunar Province, Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, Eric was wounded during combat operations. He was then medically retired from wounds received in August of 2013 and returned to Chicago, IL. Eric started his civilian career working as an Inside Sales Representative but quickly turned back to HR and Recruiting in mid-2014. Eric has gained the reputation of being a tough but open-minded leader who works tirelessly to help his candidates to achieve their goals while also partnering with his clients to ensure the right person is found. He has built lasting relations with candidates and clients and strives to bring a level of professionalism to recruiting never seen before in the industry.
