Caroline Haimerl is an accomplished researcher currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Champalimaud Foundation since June 2022. With a background that includes a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from New York University, obtained in October 2021, Caroline has also held roles such as a Teaching Assistant for a graduate course in Probabilistic Time Series Analysis and a Research Intern at Google, where research focused on scaling Transformer Models for Natural Language Processing. Prior experience includes work as a Research Assistant at Inserm, modeling hippocampal networks, and volunteering as an English and Mathematics teacher at Pal Ewam Namgyal Monastic School. Academic qualifications include dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Statistics from the University of Vienna and the University of Chicago.
