D. Alejandra Lagunas

Project Coordinator at Champlin Architecture

D. Alejandra Lagunas has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Their most recent work experience is with Champlin Architecture, where they started in 2022. They currently hold the position of Project Coordinator and started in June 2023. Prior to this, they had an internship and co-op position at the same company from May 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Champlin Architecture, Lagunas worked at Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. & Arts Council of Indianapolis from June 2019 to December 2021. During this time, they served as an Arts Engagement Project Coordinator, managing the Indy Art & Seek program and coordinating with communities and artists to create over 100 art installations throughout the city.

From 2017 to 2019, Lagunas worked as a Design Associate at W/Purpose, LLC. Prior to that, they held the role of Landscape Architect Designer at Remenschneider Associates Inc. from September 2016 to June 2017, and Landscape Architect Technician at Edsall & Associates LLC from October 2014 to August 2016.

Lagunas gained experience as a Lifeguard at Ben Davis Aquatic Center from August 2006 to September 2014, where they were trained in lifeguard and first aid procedures and supervised the aquatic center in the absence of managing staff.

They also had design-related roles at Array Architecture + Interior from November 2013 to August 2014 and W/Purpose, LLC from May 2012 to August 2013.

In addition to their professional experience, Lagunas served as the Summer Program Coordinator at Latino Youth Collective from May 2013 to August 2013.

D. Alejandra Lagunas began their education journey at Ball State University in 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree. D. Alejandra completed their undergraduate studies in this field in 2013. During the same period, they also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Returning to Ball State University in 2019, D. Alejandra Lagunas is currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture program, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
