Lydia Ruter has a diverse work experience spanning a range of roles and industries. Currently, they are working at Change Machine, where they hold the position of Head of Partnerships & Community Engagement. Prior to this role, they worked as a Project Manager at the same company.
Before joining Change Machine, Lydia was the Principal Owner of Cultivate Change LLC.
From 2013 to 2019, Lydia worked at mpowered, a nonprofit organization, in various roles including Interim Executive Director, Director of Coaching Programs, Financial Empowerment Center Program Manager, and Financial Coach & Team Lead.
Lydia also gained experience at Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, where they served as the Family Selection Manager and Family Services Coordinator, and at Teach For America as a Teacher.
Additionally, Lydia had internships and roles at Lighthouse Pontiac Area Transitional Housing, Appalachia Service Project (in different years), and served as Coordinator of Volunteers, Operations Coordinator, and Center Director in different roles at Appalachia Service Project.
Lydia Ruter obtained their Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences & Social Work from Rochester University, which they attended from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they pursued further education at Regis University from 2013 to 2015, earning a Master of Nonprofit Management degree with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.
