Bob Breck, CFRE has over 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector. Bob began their career in 1993 as the Director of Marketing at Milkweed Editions, a nationally recognized nonprofit publisher of high-quality literature. In 1998, they joined Martin Williams Advertising as an Account Supervisor and Digital Strategist, where they were responsible for creating and executing integrated marketing campaigns for major consumer and business-to-business companies. In 2004, they moved to the Science Museum of Minnesota as the Director of Marketing and Membership, where they led a team of 8 and had accountability for marketing, ticket sales, membership, and advertising, with an annual budget of $4M. In 2013, they joined Minnesota Public Radio/American Public Media Group as the Director of Membership, where they led the largest public radio membership program in the US, earning over $20M in annual revenue from 140,000 members. In 2018, they began working as the Principal of Lanark Consulting LLC, a consulting firm that helps organizations build sustainable revenue, employ CRM and online engagement, and create strategies to grow and better serve their audiences. In 2022, they became the National Director of Consulting Services for CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services), where they provide strategic and data-driven consulting for non-profits, focusing on individual and mid-level donation programs, sustaining giving, donor journeys, analysis of donor information, CRM systems, training, staff development, and augmentation.
Bob Breck, CFRE, holds a Bachelor of Arts - BA (cum laude) from Kenyon College, where they studied English, Religion, and Computer Science. In 2021, they obtained the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification from CFRE International. In 2019, they completed the Mini-MBA Program from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business. In 2016, they obtained a Customer Analytics certification from The Wharton School. In 2012-2013, they attended the Noyce Leadership Institute/Informal Learning Leadership Collaborative. In 2022, they will obtain a Graduate Certificate, Institute for Sexual and Gender Health from the University of Minnesota, where they will study Sexual Health.
