Tim Heier is responsible for technology strategy and architecture, as well as development of client-facing applications for retail and institutional business units, core middleware and share application services used by technology teams throughout the firm. He also works with Schwab's chief information officer and business leaders on the company's long-term technology strategy.
Prior to his current role, Heier was senior vice president of Schwab Advisor Services™ Technology and Mobile Development. He has held multiple positions since joining Schwab in August 1999.
Before Schwab, Heier worked as a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, founded a startup firm, and held positions at two engineering consulting firms, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Barton Ashman & Associates.
Heier earned his master of science in computer science from California State University at Hayward. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
