As a program officer, Arielle Milton brings a significant amount of philanthropic experience to Mott’s Education grantmaking team. While she initially envisioned a career in law and child advocacy, her first job after college was with the Skillman Foundation in Detroit, where she quickly became convinced that philanthropy offered her a greater chance to cultivate positive impact, particularly on behalf of children. She went on to work with Michigan’s Kresge Foundation, then explored the global development side of philanthropy at the GHR Foundation in Minneapolis. In 2017, Milton returned to the Great Lake State to become program coordinator for the Learning Services Team at the Council of Michigan Foundations, where she worked with family foundations and philanthropic communities on issues of aging. Today, her grantmaking at Mott aims to advance youth entrepreneurship and expand access to children’s saving accounts, and marks a return to her original passion — making a difference in the lives of children.
