Amber Allen

Amber Allen is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in journalism and public relations. Currently serving as the Director of Communications for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office since June 2021, Amber previously co-founded Make Progress SC, a consulting firm focused on supporting women and minority candidates in Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations. Amber's career includes roles as Development Coordinator for Postpartum Support Charleston and Director of Public Relations for Billings and Company, along with extensive experience in writing, editing, and yoga instruction. Amber holds a BA in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University, with additional studies at The University of Georgia and Midlands Technical College.
