Josh Michal serves as the 5th Horn for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra since October 2014 and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Horn at the University of Massachusetts Amherst since September 2014. Additionally, Josh has been a Horn Substitute for the Columbus Symphony, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra from 2010 to present. Educationally, Josh earned a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from The Ohio State University between 2011 and 2014, a Master of Music (MM) in Music Performance from Northwestern University during the 2007-2008 academic year, and a Bachelor of Music (BM) in Music Performance from Indiana University Bloomington from 2004 to 2007.
