Lina Rico-Gomez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of sustainability and environmental management. Lina began their career as a Research Assistant at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación, where they played a key role in identifying and prioritizing sustainable development actions for major wetlands in Colombia. Lina then moved on to Almagrario S.A., where they established the first Environment, Work Health & Safety, and Quality function within the company and implemented an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2004. Lina also served as the Head of Environment, Work Health & Safety, and Quality, managing a team of fifteen people across thirty-three branches.
After their tenure at Almagrario S.A., Lina joined Zoos Victoria as a Sustainability Advisor, where they provided advice on their Environmental Management System and conducted an environmental audit at Healesville Sanctuary, identifying over 50 improvement opportunities. Lina also delivered strategies and procedures to address environmental issues and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements. During this time, Lina was recognized for their outstanding results and was hired by the University of Melbourne as a tutoring support in the Environmental Management Systems subject.
Lina then transitioned to the Office of Environment and Heritage (NSW), where they worked as a Project Manager for the Energy and Sustainable Business Program. In this role, they managed relationships with large businesses and industry associations to promote sustainability, renewables, and energy efficiency initiatives. Lina also designed a state-wide strategy to reduce energy consumption for the 250 largest businesses in New South Wales.
Following their time at the Office of Environment and Heritage, Lina joined AMP Capital as a Sustainability Programs Coordinator and later as a Sustainability Programs Manager. In these roles, they designed and launched the first corporate sustainability and ESG strategy for a $28 billion real estate portfolio. Lina also obtained third-party certification for the portfolio's Environmental Management System under ISO 14001:2015 and led the creation of a 400-hectare biodiversity conservation reserve.
Most recently, Lina has joined Charter Hall as the ESG Manager for the Office Portfolio. In this position, they are responsible for overseeing and implementing environmental, social, and governance initiatives.

Lina Rico-Gomez has a diverse education history. In 2002, they attended Universidad de La Salle and completed their degree in Environmental and Sanitation Engineering in 2007. In 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Diploma in Health and Safety, Environment, and Quality Management Systems (HSEQ) at Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito. Later, in 2013 and 2014, they attended the University of Melbourne and earned a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering. In 2016, Lina became a Sustainability Leadership Fellow at the Centre for Sustainability Leadership. Most recently, in 2021, they completed an online course in Sustainable Finance at the University of Cambridge. Additionally, Lina has obtained certifications including Certified Measurement and Verification Professional from Efficiency Valuation Organization in July 2018 and Internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, and BASC V3:2008 from SGS.
