Joan Roman

Joan Roman has a diverse range of work experience in the education sector. Joan has significant experience in founding and managing charter schools, having served as the Founding Director of Valor Preparatory Academy, Bonnie Cone Classical Academy, Union Prep at Indian Trail, and Langtree Charter Academy. Additionally, they have held leadership positions at Charter Schools USA, where they served as the Regional Manager of Compliance and Grants for the NC/SC region. Joan also worked as an Academic Specialist at Queen's Grant Community School and as a Middle School Dean at Orion Academy. Their roles have included responsibilities such as setting the vision and mission of schools, developing operational procedures, supervising staff, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. Joan has consistently demonstrated a commitment to educational excellence and has contributed to the successful establishment and operation of multiple schools.

Joan Roman obtained their Master of Education degree in Elementary Education from Greensboro College, where they attended from 2003 to 2006. Subsequently, they pursued their Master of School Administration degree in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte from 2009 to 2011.
