Ruben D. Nieves

Ruben D. Nieves is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at CheckVideo since January 2022, specializing in model deployment for real-time analytics through web applications that monitor facility occupancy via security camera feeds. Previously, as a Principal at Infinitive, Ruben led an agile team in creating low latency APIs for big data and significantly contributed to CI/CD pipeline development. As a Senior Software Engineer at Leidos, Ruben directed a five-member team to implement deep learning algorithms for X-Ray image analysis. Earlier roles include designing ETL pipelines for LIDAR data at Sigma Space Corporation and developing a computer vision algorithm for LIDAR data accuracy at Harris Corporation. Ruben began in research as a Research Assistant at the University of Puerto Rico, contributing to remote sensing and image processing studies. Educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, as well as multiple nanodegrees in data science, machine learning engineering, and natural language processing from Udacity.
