Julie Chen

Julie Chen has over 15 years of experience in the business world. In 2003, they began their career as an International Sales Manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., where they were responsible for large commodity trade, logistics and supply chain, and overseeing the manufacturing process and quality control. In 2008, they moved to Stanley Electric Company Limited as a Supply Chain Manager, where they were in charge of the Nokia project and coordinated between European, Japan, China clients and factory based in Thailand and delivered electrical components. In 2010, they took on the role of Business Development Manager at Inductec Lighting Limited. In 2012, they founded and became Director of Rhythm Lifestyle Ltd. Most recently, in 2016, they became the Chief Executive Officer of The Cheeky Panda, where they create ultra sustainable, hypoallergenic tissue paper and biodegradable wipes from 100% bamboo.

Julie Chen has a diverse educational background. In 2000, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in English and Japanese Language from Communication University of China. From 2003 to 2004, they studied Japanese and Lifestyle Business Management at Jissen Women's University as part of an exchange program. Julie then earned a Master's Degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Glasgow between 2004 and 2005. In 2019, they attended The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and completed the Tuck Aston Residential programme in Business Administration and Management, General. Most recently, in 2021, they completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK program at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Additionally, in 2003, they obtained the JLPT Japanese-Language Proficiency Test certification from JLPT.
