Craig Roberts

Craig Roberts serves as the Head of Performance Medicine at Chelsea Football Club since June 2024 and is an External Sports Medicine Consultant for The Football Association since January 2021. Previously, Craig held the position of Head of Sports Medicine at AFC Bournemouth from November 2015 to December 2023. Earlier in the career, Craig was a Sports Physician and Team Doctor for the Springboks, contributing significantly from February 2008 to November 2015 while also directing the Prime Human Performance Institute and the Elite Athlete Development Program. This role was preceded by a tenure as Team Physician for The Sharks Rugby Team from January 2000 to December 2010. Academically, Craig holds an MSc in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound from Bournemouth University and an MBChB along with an MPhil in Sports Medicine from the University of Cape Town.
