James Paterson

James Paterson has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles.

James is currently working as the Head of Finance at Chemist2U Australia since July 2022.

Prior to this, from 2014 onwards, James served as a Private Investor & Advisor at Savannah Ventures, where they invested and provided guidance to companies in the energy, hospitality, and creative sectors.

In 2017, they became the Co-Owner of CRC Holdings (t/a Black Brewing Co) and also took on the role of Chief Financial Advisor (aka The Numbers Guy) at VLVF (t/a Black Brewing Co). James held these positions until July 2022.

In 2019, James briefly served as the Managing Director at Australian Film Slate Pty Ltd from January to June.

Before that, they took a sabbatical at CLSA in 2014 and then served as the Country Head - Australia from December 2009 to May 2014. James had previously been the Country Head - Hong Kong from August 2006 to December 2009 at the same company.

Starting from 1995, they held various roles at CLSA, including Head of Korean Research, Head of Asian Banking Research, Country Head Philippines, Head of Philippines Research, and Equity Research Analyst. James served in these positions until July 2005.

James began their career at Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1991, working as a Senior Consultant from September 1994 to August 1995. Prior to that, they were an Audit Senior, working on audit engagements across various industries in both W.A and the U.K. from January 1991 to August 1994.

James Paterson attended Scotch College in Perth from 1975 to 1986. James then enrolled at UWA from 1988 to 1990, earning a degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting & Finance. Later, from 1992 to 1994, James attended the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, specializing in Chartered Accounting.
