Olivia Carere

Research Assistant for HALO Research Group at CHEO Research Institute

Olivia Carere has diverse work experience in various fields. Olivia is currently an Associate Editor for the Journal of Undergraduate Life Sciences since October 2021. Olivia is also a Research Assistant for the HALO Research Group at the CHEO Research Institute, starting in April 2021. At McMaster University, they serve as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant starting from September 2021. Olivia has been a member of the Medical Engineering Design Team (MED-T) since September 2020. Olivia previously worked as a Receptionist at the Riel Medical Clinic from May to September 2020. In terms of extracurricular activities, Olivia was a Student Life Prefect and a member of the Ashbury College Strategic Planning Advisory Board at Ashbury College from September 2019 to June 2020. Olivia also worked as a Camp Counselor at the Ottawa Athletic Club from June to September 2019. Finally, Olivia worked as a Ski Instructor and Ski Instructor Assistant at Camp Fortune from December 2014 to March 2017.

Olivia Carere began their education at Ashbury College in 2014, where they obtained their IB Diploma and Ontario Highschool Diploma by 2020. Olivia then went on to McMaster University from 2020 to 2023, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Health Science, specializing in Health, Engineering Science, and Entrepreneurship. Olivia's educational journey continued at the University of Toronto from 2023 to 2027, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. It is worth noting that Olivia also holds a certification in Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED from the Canadian Red Cross, although the specific timeline of obtaining this certification is unspecified.
