Melchizedek Mashiku

Melchizedek Mashiku has a diverse work experience in the field of research and software engineering. Melchizedek has currently been working as a Research Scientist/Engineer at the University of Washington since January 2023, conducting research in applied mathematics, engineering sciences, machine learning, and data science under the supervision of Professors J. Nathan Kutz and Steven L. Brunton at the AI Institute in Dynamic Systems.

Before that, Melchizedek worked as a CDC Contractor as a Back End Developer at Cherokee Federal starting November 2021.

In 2019, Melchizedek gained experience as a Machine Learning Engineering Intern at the University of Oxford from October to December.

From September 2018 to October 2019, Melchizedek served as a Research Software Engineer at Georgia State University.

In 2019, Melchizedek worked as a Software Development Intern at Aptos Retail, where they created an in-house solution for order management system (OMS) analysis, built OMS order tracking tools, and automated order summarization using machine learning. Melchizedek also presented their project to the Aptos Team.

In 2016, Melchizedek had the opportunity to work as a High school Software Engineering Intern at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where they developed a web application for displaying Near Earth Network (NEN) assets on a 3D globe. Melchizedek also presented their project to the management of Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN).

Melchizedek Mashiku completed their high school education at Cedar Shoals High School from 2012 to 2016. Melchizedek did not receive a degree or specify a particular field of study during this time. Melchizedek also obtained a Google Data Analytics Certificate from Coursera in June 2021.
