Mauro Fonseca

Mauro Fonseca is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as Legal Manager and Company Secretary at Angola LNG Marketing Ltd. since January 2024, Mauro also holds the position of Senior Lead Counsel at Chevron since July 2018. Additional roles include Attorney at both the Angolan Bar Association and Portuguese Bar Association since 2013 and 2011, respectively. Mauro's previous positions encompass Head of Legal, Politics & Public Affairs and Compliance at Equinor and Statoil, as well as Legal Advisor at Saipem. Mauro began legal career as an Attorney Associate at Morais, Nascimento, Ávila & Associados, Sociedade de Advogados, R. L. between 2010 and 2012. Educational qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM) from Universidade Agostinho Neto and a Licentiate degree from Universidade do Minho, complemented by studies in International Law at Universidade de Vigo and a specialized course in Oil & Gas Law from AIPN/Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation.
