Mj Kim, PHR/SHRM-CP, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Starting in 2000, Mj worked in Human Resources at Hilton Hotels & Resorts until 2007.

From 2007 to 2016, Mj held various Human Resources positions at Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, including Human Resources Manager, Senior Human Resources Manager, and Assistant Director of Human Resources.

In 2016, Mj joined Waterton as the Corporate Human Resources Manager, responsible for managing and guiding all HR procedures and systems for the hospitality division of a real estate investment and management company.

Since 2019, Mj has been at the Chicago Botanic Garden, where they initially served as the Senior Manager of Human Resources before being promoted to the position of Senior Director. In this role, Mj provides leadership and support in executing strategic HR initiatives, with a focus on talent management, development, performance management, employee relations, and compensation.

Prior to their HR roles, Mj worked as a Behavioral Health Counselor at Advocate Health Care, where they were responsible for maintaining a therapeutic milieu and assisting in the assessment and care of psychiatric and substance abuse patients.

Mj Kim, PHR/SHRM-CP, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics/Sociology-Anthropology from Knox College. In addition to their degree, Mj has earned certifications in the field of human resources. They obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in June 2006. Moreover, Mj became a SHRM Certified Professional in November 2015, granted by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Their educational background and certifications demonstrate Mj's commitment to professional development and proficiency in the field of human resources.
