Nathaniel Hale

Nathaniel (Nate) Hale is an accomplished bassoonist with extensive experience across various prestigious orchestras and opera companies. Currently serving as Principal Bassoon, Second Bassoon, and Contrabassoon at the Chicago Philharmonic since July 2011, Nathaniel has also performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, showcasing versatility in both classical and contemporary repertoire. Previous roles include substitute positions at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, where Nathaniel excelled in several bassoon roles. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Bassoon Performance from The Juilliard School and multiple degrees from Trinity International University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Nathaniel's broad experience also includes teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Trinity International University.
