Cristina Sakamoto, PhD, is a Senior GIS Data Strategist at Chicago Public Schools since August 2021, specializing in producing maps using ESRI ArcGIS and conducting data analysis with SAS, R, and Tableau to support leadership and stakeholders. Prior to this role, Cristina was a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Chicago, where efforts included standardizing units of analysis and working as a GIS Fellow documenting historical maps of Chicago. Additional experience includes roles as a GIS Specialist mapping gentrification in Chicago neighborhoods, Program Coordinator and Researcher at the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, Associate Professor in Business Management and Marketing at FECAP, Business Development Intern at AbeBooks, and Research Assistant at FGV. Cristina holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Chicago, along with Master's degrees in International Business and Business Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from FGV.
