Roy Carlson has a diverse work experience in various industries. Roy started their career at Leo Burnett as a Media Planner/Buyer, where they produced and presented media plans, negotiated and purchased broadcast time and print space, and tracked billings. Roy then worked at Marriott Hotels as a Convention Services Manager, where they directed convention set-up, managed a staff of 20 employees, and wrote training manuals. After that, they joined Chicago Tribune Media Group, where they held multiple roles including Field Service Representative, Sales & Business Development Coordinator, Division Sales & Service Manager, Single Copy Analyst, Planning & Receiving Manager, Preprint Logistics Manager, and Senior Manager, Preprint Logistics & Inventory. In these roles, they gained experience in managing inventory, logistics, receiving, circulation sales, service, and distribution. Roy also developed and implemented various initiatives to improve print and delivery standards and maximize efficiency.
Roy Carlson attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1980 to 1984. Roy obtained a Bachelor of Science - BS degree in Finance during this time.
