Liz Fiato has a diverse work experience in the field of EMS and disaster preparedness. Liz worked as a Paramedic for the New Orleans Health Department from 2001 to 2004 and for Lifeguard Ambulance from 2004 to 2005. Liz then joined the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, where they served as the EMS Preparedness, Training, and Education Section Chief from 2012 to 2014, and as the Indiana Disaster Medical System Coordinator from 2011 to 2012. Liz later worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals as the EMS Disaster Preparedness and Response Program Manager from 2014 to 2016. Currently, they are the Deputy Project Director at Child Care Aware of America, a position they have held since 2016.
Liz Fiato obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Tulane University in the years 1999-2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Public Management from Indiana University Bloomington from 2006 to 2008. Lastly, Liz pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Emergency Services Management from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences between 2008 and 2011.
