Nia-Simone Woods is a Senior Research Assistant at Child Trends since May 2021, with previous experience as a Research Assistant. Nia-Simone has contributed to various research initiatives, including strengthening foreign-language instruction in French primary schools as a Fellow in the Teaching Assistant Program in France USA and evaluating social determinants impacting diabetes care at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Nia-Simone's work also includes analyzing diabetes health disparities in central Brooklyn as part of the SPRINTER program, managing social justice initiatives at Spelman College, and conducting health-related research for the U.S. House of Representatives. Nia-Simone holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Spelman College and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
