David Wolfson, MD, FAAP, serves as medical director of UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics (CCP) and is a practicing pediatrician at UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics – Bass Wolfson. Dr. Wolfson has overseen the development of coordinated programs within UPMC CCP, providing care to patients in a medical home model with embedded service lines including behavioral health, weight management, and population health programs, including asthma and migraine and headaches. These programs are coordinated with community providers UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic to offer a continuum of care between the community and subspecialty services. Dr. Wolfson championed the development and implementation of the Pediatric EpicCare Ambulatory Electronic Record at UPMC. He continues to develop tools to improve collaboration, drive population health initiatives, enhance patient access, and improve end-user satisfaction. Dr. Wolfson attended Washington University in St. Louis as an undergraduate. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his pediatric residency at Northwestern University, followed by a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wolfson is currently clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
