Maria Luz Torre has extensive experience in advocacy and organization, primarily focused on children and families in San Francisco. As a Parent Voices Organizer for Parent Voices SF since January 1996, Torre has championed access to quality child care and health care. Involvement with Coleman Advocates for Children and Youth since 1997 includes serving as Board Member and past President, advocating for a just San Francisco for children and families. Additionally, Torre has been a member of the San Francisco Health Authority Governing Board since 1998, co-chairing the Member Advisory Committee. Past roles include Board Member for Action Alliance for Children from 2005 to 2014, and a supportive role at the Haribon Foundation from June 1989 to August 1992, where Torre managed advocacy and networking efforts. Revista-backed participation with BayPLAN occurred from 2006 to 2011.
