Lydia Miller has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 2007, they started as a Peoria Zoo Educator with the Peoria Park District, a role they held until 2009. Lydia then worked as an Education Assistant at the Tallahassee Museum from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, they returned to the Peoria Park District as a Peoria Zoo Educator until 2014. From 2014 to 2020, Lydia worked at IVP Plastics, a Division of MPI, Microplastics, Inc., where they started as a Human Resources Generalist and was later promoted to Human Resources Manager. In 2021, they joined Central School District 51 as a Special Education Paraeducator until 2022. From 2022 to 2023, Lydia served as a Human Resources Business Partner at Bradley University. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at the Children's Home Association of Illinois, starting from 2023.
Lydia Miller completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Organismal Biology and Public Outreach from Illinois State University, where they attended from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained another Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Millikin University, where they studied from 2003 to 2007.
