Jennie Sierra

Jennie Sierra, DNP, MBA, RN has a strong background in healthcare leadership and management. Jennie currently works as the Executive Director of NICU, Maternal Fetal Services, and Special Delivery Unit at CHOC Children's, starting in October 2022. In this role, they oversee the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of a 104-bed NICU.

Prior to their current position, Jennie worked at UChicago Medicine from 2010 to 2019. Jennie served as the Director of Women's Care Center, where they managed the administrative and operational functions of various departments, including Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby unit, and the Fetal Care Center.

Jennie also had experience as the Interim Director of NICU at UChicago Medicine, where they led a level III NICU and transitional care unit. During this time, they effectively managed day-to-day operations and implemented initiatives that improved financial and quality outcomes.

Before joining UChicago Medicine, Jennie was the Patient Care Manager of Comer 5, Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where they provided managerial oversight of a 31-bed pediatric unit.

Additionally, Jennie has been involved with the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONL) as an AONL Nurse Director Fellow in 2017.

Jennie Sierra, DNP, MBA, RN, has an extensive education history. Jennie obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Loyola University Chicago. Jennie then pursued a Master of Science degree in Nursing Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from Lewis University. Recently, they completed their Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Executive Leadership at Baylor University. In addition to their educational achievements, Jennie has also earned certifications as a Registered Nurse from both the California Board of Registered Nursing and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Jennie also holds a certification in Social and Behavioral Researchers from the CITI Program, obtained in November 2022.
