Roy W. Ware

Roy Ware has extensive work experience in the chemistry field. Roy began their career as a Postdoctoral Chemist at RTI International in 2001. Roy then worked at Serenex as a Research Chemist from 2002 to 2005. In this role, they managed drug discovery projects and supervised outsourced chemistry. From 2006 to 2007, Roy worked as a Process Chemist at Scynexis, where they developed and scaled up pharmaceutical ingredients for global clients. In 2007, they joined PharmaCore as a Research Scientist before moving to Chimerix, Inc. the same year. At Chimerix, Roy held various positions including Senior Research Chemist, Group Leader, Director of Chemistry, Senior Director of Chemistry, Vice President of Chemistry, and Chief Manufacturing and Technology Officer.

Roy Ware completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 1988 to 1992. Roy then pursued further studies and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Wake Forest University, where they studied between 1996 and 2000. Later, Roy completed an MBA in Business Administration from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School from 2004 to 2006.
