As Deputy Director of Operations, Whitney provides leadership in the areas of housing development and the IT/administrative functions. Whitney has been at Chinatown CDC since 1992, serving as Director of Housing Development for 13 years before assuming his current role in 2020. In his years in Housing Development, he participated in the development of over 2500 units of affordable housing. Before coming to Chinatown CDC, he started in affordable housing with Telesis Corporation in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of LISC’s Housing Development Training Institute and USC’s Bay Area Ross Program for Real Estate, as well as the University of Kansas with a B.A. in English, and UC Berkeley with an M.A. in Geography.
