Julia Derman has a diverse work experience. In 2022, they began working at Chomps as a Senior Analyst and Analyst of Consumer Engagement. In 2021, they started working at Vital Proteins as an Influencer Marketing and at Healthy Schools Tucson as a Public Health Intern. In this role, they partnered with Saints Peter and Paul Middle School and the University of Arizona's Mel and Enid Zuckerman's College of Public Health to teach middle school students about nutrition, physical activity, hydration, stress management and self-care practices. In 2019, they began working at Tucson Medical Center as a Health & Wellness Intern, where they implemented the LiveWell program for all hospital employees. Additionally, in 2019, they participated in the Mediterranean Diet and Health Study Abroad Program at the University of Arizona, where they researched how food principles and behaviors associated with the Mediterranean Diet may be applied in US communities to prevent chronic disease and studied the influence bioactive compounds present in Mediterranean foods have on metabolic pathways.
Julia Derman obtained a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education and Promotion from the University of Arizona between 2017 and 2021. Julia also obtained an academic minor degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Arizona during the same time period. Additionally, they obtained certifications as an IRB Member from the CITI Program in 2021, and as an IRB Member- Human Research from the CITI Program, A Division of BRANY in 2019.
