Bas de Haas

Bas de Haas has been involved in a variety of roles related to music, technology, and entrepreneurship. Bas began their career as a self-employed freelance web developer in 2005. In 2006, they were a research intern at the Music Cognition Group at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, where they learned the basics of scientific research. From 2007 to 2011, they were a postdoctoral guest researcher and then a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University, where they worked on Music Information Retrieval and developed methods based on music cognition and perception. In 2012, they founded Chordify - Tune into chords, where they served as CEO, Founder, and Music Informatics Researcher. Bas'sresearch focused on music information retrieval, digital signal processing, and machine learning. Bas is passionate about music, playing guitar, new technologies, and entrepreneurship.

Bas de Haas completed a Master in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University from 2000 to 2007. Bas also attended HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht) from 2003 to 2004 to study jazz guitar.
