John McGuiness

John McGuiness has extensive work experience in the telecom industry. John started their career in 1974 as a Senior Foreman Cable Jointing at New Zealand Post Office (P&T). From 1983 to 1990, they worked at Post Office/Telecom NZ as a Senior Foreman Optical Fibre Systems, where they deployed and spliced backbone fiber cables and wrote standards for Layer 1 fiber systems. From 1990 to 1999, they worked at Telecom New Zealand as a Quality and Standards Officer, supporting field teams, developing new technical standards, and delivering continuous improvement through auditing and training. From 2000 to 2008, they worked at Telecom NZ Ltd as a Business Integration Manager, and during that time, they were responsible for integrating business processes and systems. Since 2008, they have been working at Chorus NZ Limited in various roles, including Senior Implementation Specialist, Senior Deployment Standards Specialist, and currently as the Principal Network Design Engineer. In these roles, they have been involved in architectural design, product deployment standards, and optimizing business processes and systems.

John McGuiness has a diverse education history. In the 1970s, they worked as a Telecom Snr Foreman. In the 1980s, they obtained various fibre-based certifications. Later in the 1990s, they became a certified NZQA Auditor. Although the field of study is not specified, it can be inferred that their education is relevant to the telecommunications industry.
