Dorrie Blackbeard

Dorrie Blackbeard has extensive experience in pattern design and development. Dorrie worked as a pattern maker at Christy Dawn from December 2018. Before that, they were a developing/consulting pattermaker at Nehra Katie, The Script, Raquel Allegra, Staud, Mercy & Loyal from July 2017 to December 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Dutch, LLC dba Joie, Current/Elliott and Equipment from October 2009 to July 2017 as a first development patternmaker. Dorrie also worked as a pattern maker at Yael Aflalo/ YaYa from June 2006 to March 2008 and at BCBG from October 1997 to June 2006. Dorrie started their career as a first pattern and design assistant at PG Collections/Rated PG and later worked as a wardrobe assistant for movies, television, and commercials on a freelance basis. Dorrie also has experience as a designer at Plati and as a design assistant for the junior sportswear division at Jonathon Martin. Additionally, they worked as a vintage restorer at Merris.

Dorrie Blackbeard attended Natal Technikon in Durban, South Africa from 1980 to 1982. During their time at the institution, they pursued and successfully completed a Diploma in Fashion Design, specializing in Fashion and Illustration.
