Fred Van Beuningen

Educated in business at Erasmus University in Rotterdam and INSEAD, France, Fred has worked as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Board member for international industrial companies and as innovation lead.

Fred started his career with Royal Dutch Shell. His international industry experience spans Europe and Asia in sectors ranging from oil & gas, chemicals, and industrial gas to packaging and logistics. Most recently, he served as Director of Innovation at global chemicals company AkzoNobel and worked on the integration of sustainability into the company’s strategy.

Fred is an observer on the Board of Chrysailx portfolio company NanoSteel. He also serves on the investment committee of a regional development company in the Netherlands and on the supervisory Boards of the Erasmus center of future energy, the International Clean Tech Network, and Holland Circular Hotspot. He participates in a strategic advisory board to the government on sustainable economic development and the hydrogen economy, and served on the Board of the sustainability network of the Young Presidents Organization – YPO.

Fred’s experience is in technology, innovation, and bringing technology to the market. His international network allows him to connect with technology institutes, venture and growth investors and entrepreneurs, and CVC’s.
