Sue S. has extensive experience in education, having served as a substitute teacher at Churchill County School District since September 2008, and previously as an elementary and middle school teacher from 1973 to 2007. Sue S. also held leadership roles in the Nevada Mathematics Council from 1995 to April 2020, including serving as former president and current Rural Counties Representative. Prior to their teaching career, Sue S. worked as a corporation clerk at the Secretary of State's Office from 1968 to 1973. Sue S. holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and two Master of Education degrees in Literacy and Word Study from Lesley University and Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Phoenix.
