Joe Guenther

Joe Guenther has a diverse work experience in security and safety roles. Joe currently serves as the Senior Director of Safety/Security & Surveillance Operations at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Director of Safety & Security Operations at Churchill Downs Incorporated starting in April 2020.

Before joining Churchill Downs, Joe was the Director of Safety And Security at Four Seasons Hotel from July 2018 to April 2020. From November 2013 to July 2018, they served as the Director of Safety And Security at Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago.

Joe's experience also includes a role as a Security Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas from June 2012 to September 2013. Joe began their career in the security industry as a Security Supervisor at ARIA Resort & Casino from November 2009 to June 2012.

Prior to their work in the casino industry, Joe worked as a Security Shift Supervisor at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa from November 2006 to November 2009. Joe began their career in law enforcement as a Police Officer at Brigantine Police Department, where they worked from January 2002 to November 2006.

Joe Guenther attended Holy Spirit High School from 1998 to 2001, where they earned a high school degree in General Studies. Joe later attended Camden County College/Police Academy and Penn College, focusing on Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Administration. In addition to their formal education, Joe has obtained several certifications related to law enforcement and security, including VBIED Detection Course from the US Department of Homeland Security in 2012, and various certifications from FEMA and Abraxas Applications in 2010.
