Alex Naraian PPCIAT MCIAT has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Alex most recently worked at Churchill Retirement Living Ltd as the Group Head of Technical starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they were employed at Knightsgate UK Ltd as a Senior Design Manager from January 2022 to March 2022, and at Strutt & Parker as the Head of Architecture & Building Surveying from September 2019 to January 2022. Alex also held various positions at the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) from 2012 to 2020, including Immediate Past President, President, President Elect, SE Regional Councillor, and CIAT Executive Board Councillor Trustee. Alex was an Associate Director at Ascot Design from June 2017 to August 2019, and at ADAM Architecture from October 1997 to June 2017. Additionally, Alex served as the Chair of the 5th New Forest East Scout Executive Committee from July 2013 to July 2016, and as the Vice Chairman of the Applemore and Waterside Swimming Club from November 2011 to July 2016.
Alex Naraian PPCIAT MCIAT has a diverse education history. In 1989, they obtained a BTEC National Certificate in Building Studies from BTEC. Alex further pursued their education at Solent University from 1989 to 1991 and earned an HNC (Higher National Certificate) in Building Studies. Later, in 1981 to 1985, they attended the International Secondary School in Fiji Islands, where they completed their Secondary Education and obtained 'O' levels and a New Zealand School Certificate.
In addition to their formal education, Alex Naraian PPCIAT MCIAT has also obtained various certifications. Alex received a BTEC Customer Service Level 3 certification from BTEC National Vocational Qualification in May 1997 and a City and Guilds certification in Computer Aided Draughting and Design from City and Guilds in August 1996. Moreover, they achieved Chartered Membership Of The Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists in December 2004. More recently, in July 2016, they were honored with the title of Honorary Fellow of Southampton Solent University. Alex also added to their skillset by obtaining the MHFAider certification from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in January 2023.
