Federico Ortiz Coto

Federico Ortiz Coto is an accomplished ophthalmologist with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving at Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) since February 2021, Federico specializes in retina and vitreous at the Clínica Oftalmológica de la CCSS. Additionally, Federico practices at Hospital CIMA since January 2017. Prior experience includes a position as a Master in Vitreous and Retina at IMO Instituto de Microcirugía Ocular, and an ophthalmologist role at CAJA COSTARRICENSE DE SEGURO SOCIAL's Hospital Nacional de Geriatría y Gerontología. Federico completed the Ophthalmology Residency Program at Universidad de Costa Rica UCR and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad de Ciencias Médicas. Furthermore, Federico enhanced expertise through an observer fellowship at Retina Consultants of Charleston. Education in retina and vitreous was furthered at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
