Herman Mays is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in biology and genetics. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Marshall University since July 2014, Herman Mays previously held positions as Assistant Professor in genetics and has contributed to the field through various adjunct professor roles at institutions such as the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and Thomas More College from 2008 to 2014. In addition to teaching, Herman Mays has been a Research Associate and adjunct curator at the Cincinnati Museum Center since June 2007, managing zoological collections and leading molecular ecology research. Earlier positions include serving as an Assistant Professor of evolutionary biology at Georgia Southern University and a postdoctoral fellow at Auburn University, where research focused on molecular genetics and avian ecology. Herman Mays earned a PhD in Evolutionary Ecology from the University of Kentucky and holds a BS in Biology and Anthropology from the same institution.
