James Stockford

James Stockford, CPA, CMA has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. James currently serves as the Executive Director of Finance at Cineplex Media, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, James was with Cineplex Digital Media, where they held various executive roles, including Executive Director of Finance & Administration and Executive Director of Financial Planning & Risk Management.

Before their time at Cineplex, James worked at Western University, where they held roles such as Planning Analyst and Human Resources Financial Analyst. James also served as Acting Manager of Pension Operations during their tenure there.

James began their career at Canadian Tire Financial Services as a Senior Financial Analyst, where they gained expertise in financial and cost-benefit analysis. James later took on the role of Financial Analyst, where they played a key role in various projects and produced financial statements for the Canadian Tire Bank Board of Directors.

Prior to their time at Canadian Tire, James worked as an Accounting Student (Co-op) at Walker Industries, where they gained experience in general accounting duties and compliance reporting. James also worked as a Reporting Analyst (Co-op) at NuComm International, where they honed their skills in Microsoft Excel and created dynamic reports for clients. James also gained auditing experience as an Internal Auditor (Co-op) at GO Transit.

Throughout their career, James has shown a strong ability to lead teams, manage financial processes, and contribute to strategic planning and decision making. James Stockford, CPA, CMA, obtained their CMA Designation in Strategic Leadership and Accounting from the Society of Management Accountants from 2004 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) with a focus in Finance at Brock University from 1999 to 2003.
