António Soares is the executive manager of CINTESIS, leading the management team. With a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minho and a postgraduate degree in Project Management from the EGP-Porto Business School, António Soares went through clinical practice and teaching in Higher Education before dedicating himself exclusively to Research.

In 2011, he took part in a project in the area of ​​Clinical Communication, under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine of the U.Porto (FMUP), which allowed him to visit all the Faculties of Medicine in the country and get to know in depth what Medical Education is in Portugal. . At the same time, he was a trainer at the Porto Medical Simulation Center (CESIMED) and an associate member of the FMUP Biomedical Simulation Center.

In 2012, he was invited to take charge of the scientific management of CINTESIS, having added to these functions the representation of FMUP in the AgeUP Consortium, in the PtCRIN (Portuguese Clinical Research Infrastructure Network, in the Health Cluster Portugal and in A3ES.

He is also a specialist at the National Innovation Agency (ANI), having monitored the submission of more than a hundred scientific projects, some of which have an international dimension. Recently, he was invited by the European Commission to join the restricted group of experts that evaluate and monitor the scientific projects financed by this entity.
