Ashley Gray CA(SA) has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Ashley started their career at PwC South Africa as a Senior Associate from January 2012 to December 2014. Ashley then joined Cipla South Africa, where they held various positions, including Group Reporting Accountant from January 2015 to September 2016, Senior Group Reporting Accountant from October 2016 to November 2017, Regional Finance Manager from December 2017 to January 2020, Associate Director - Head: Lead Corporate Accounting and Tax (SA/SSA) from January 2020 to May 2021, Associate Director - Head: Strategic Insights & Projects (SAGA) from May 2021 to May 2023, and currently serving as the Director - Head of Finance: Cipla Global Access, Strategic Insights & Projects (SAGA) from April 2023.
Ashley Gray CA(SA) completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting at the University of the Western Cape/Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland from 2006 to 2010. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) Honours degree in Financial Accounting from the same university in 2011.
In 2012, Ashley Gray CA(SA) attended SAICA to complete the CA (SA) Qualifying Examination 1, which further enhanced their expertise. The following year, in 2013, they enrolled at IRBA to undertake the CA (SA) Qualifying Examination 2 - Public Practice Examination with a focus on auditing.
Expanding their knowledge beyond accounting and auditing, Ashley Gray CA(SA) pursued a Senior Management Development Programme at the Stellenbosch Business School from 2017 to 2019. This programme allowed them to develop skills in business management, complementing their accounting and auditing background.
