Trevor Thompson

Trevor Thompson has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of engineering and software development. Trevor is currently working as an Engineering Manager and Site Lead at Cirata since April 2021. Prior to this, they had a long tenure at WANdisco where they held various roles, including Engineering Lead/Co-founder of Belfast Development Centre, and Java Team Lead/Co-founder of Belfast Development Centre. At WANdisco, Trevor played a key role in developing and growing the company's Source Code Management suite of products.

Before joining WANdisco, Trevor worked at ASG as a Senior Software Engineer, where they focused on developing the Naviplex Management Server, which handled large amounts of data generated by mainframes. Trevor also gained experience at Openwave as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for developing mobile gateways used by KDDI in Japan.

Earlier in their career, Trevor worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Senior C++ Developer, where they developed modular libraries for tracking client-server transactions and identifying performance bottlenecks. Trevor also worked as a Contract Programmer at Vision Information Consulting and as a Software Engineer at BT, where they specialized in embedded C programming and developed automated test tools.

Trevor began their career as a C Programmer at Crest Computers, where they designed and coded an interrupt-driven application for a hotel phone number logging system. Overall, Trevor Thompson has a strong background in software engineering and leadership roles, with extensive experience in various programming languages and technologies.

Trevor Thompson attended Larne High School from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained their GCSEs. Trevor then attended Larne Technical College from 1988 to 1990, earning a BTEC OND in Business Studies. From 1990 to 1994, Trevor studied at The University of Huddersfield, completing their Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Information Technology (Software Development).
