Gemma Ball has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Starting in 2001, Gemma worked in the HM Forces as a CMT until 2007. Gemma then transitioned to the NHS as an ODP until 2008. From 2008 to 2011, Gemma worked as an ODP at BMI Healthcare. Gemma then joined Ramsay Health Care as an anaesthetic ODP from 2012 to 2015. Following this, Gemma took on the role of theatre manager at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service from 2015 to 2017. Starting in 2016, they worked as a theatre practitioner surgical first assistant at BMI Healthcare until 2019. Gemma then worked as a clinical specialist at Exactech UK from 2019 to 2020. From 2020 to 2021, they held two roles at BMI Healthcare as an ODP lead for Minor Ops and Quality & Risk Theatres, as well as a pre-assessment practitioner. In 2021, they joined Circle Health Group as an ODP lead for Minor Ops and Quality & Risk Theatres. Finally, in 2022, they became the business owner of Meltaway by Gemma.
Gemma Ball completed their secondary education at Bilton High School, where they obtained GCSE 9 subjects A-C, from 1996 to 2001. Gemma then pursued a diploma in operating department practitioner at Birmingham City University from 2003 to 2005. Recently, they studied Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General at Teesside University from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, Gemma obtained various certifications and diplomas, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from Resuscitation Council UK in 2022 and a diploma in operating department practitioner from The Health and Care Professions Council in 2005.
