Mandeep Walia

Mandeep Walia is the current Chief Compliance & Risk Officer at Circle. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Enterprise Risk Management at Facebook from November 2018 to May 2021. Walia has also held the position of Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at LendUp, where they led the redesign and execution of the company's compliance and risk management framework. Mandeep has also been successful in representing the company's posture in critical regulatory exams and negotiations, such as with the CFPB and state regulators. Walia has also been successful in designing and implementing leading governance structures for the company, including regular presentations and data analytics to Executive Committees and the Board. Under their leadership, the risk culture of the company has significantly improved, and they have effectively embedded Compliance within the company’s day to day processes. Mandeep has also built a highly talented Compliance team in a short amount of time.

Mandeep Walia pursued a Master's degree in ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEMS from Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Law from University of Mumbai and another Bachelor's degree in FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING from the same university. Mandeep is also a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from ACAMS.
